Bridging Sweden and Japan for Global Solutions
From November 17 to 22, 2024, MIRAI Global Challenges Winter School took place in Stockholm, gathering a total of 27 early career researchers from Japan and Sweden!
European Institute of Japanese Studies (EIJS) at Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) hosted this fantastic program and Kyushu University Stockholm Liaison Office worked together to organize it. To support the travel of Japanese participants, MIRAI, as a whole consortium, received a grant of 2 million Japanese yen from the Scandinavia-Japan Sasakawa Foundation (SJSF).
In line with MIRAI’s aim of contributing to solving global issues through interdisciplinary collaboration, the Winter School featured lectures from multiple sectors: academics, industry and policymakers. Connected to the Winter School, Japanese Studies Networking Conference, organized by SSE, gathered a total of 80 people and provided networking opportunities to explore a wide range of collaboration possibilities beyond their own fields.
